Roof Cleaning
Removal & Treatment of Moss, Lichen & Algae
The damp, wet conditions in the UK make a perfect breeding ground for bio growth such as moss, lichen and algae. This growth on our roofs not only looks unsightly and impacts our property's curb appeal, but it can also pose serious long term problems to the health of the building.
If left, moss continues to grow and acts as an absorbent sponge on top of your roof tiles. This extra weight on your tiles causes damage as the moisture trapped inside the moss freezes and expands.
Moss also poses another threat as it doesn't just stay on the roof. Lumps drop down into your gutters and stop the flow of rainwater. If there's no where for the rainwater to go, it can quickly back up and run over causing warped gutters and damp issues down the property's walls.
Keep these issues at bay by keeping your roof well maintained.

Our Process
01
Assessment & Preparation
Before we begin any cleaning, we conduct a thorough assessment of your roof. This may include checking for cracked or damaged tiles, ridges, and mortar. We may need access to your loft to check the integrity of your roof felt, especially if you live in an older property.
Protecting your home is a high priority for us so we will also be checking for safe access points for cleaning without setting foot on your roof.
Safety is paramount, so we ensure the area around the house is clear and protected, and we take precautions to safeguard any delicate landscaping. These checks help us to tailor our approach to get the best results.
02
Low Pressure Steam Cleaning or Tile Profile Moulded Scraper
Unlike traditional high-pressure washing, which can be harsh on roof surfaces, we use a low-pressure steam washing technique.
We use carbon fibre poles, our own scaffold tower system, gutter vacuum and a Mazzoni steam boiler pump setup to enable us to maintain our “No Foot on Tile” policy.
This method harnesses the power of steam to gently remove algae, moss, and dirt without causing damage to the roofing material.
03
HSE Approved Treatment Application
We prioritise using safe HSE approved treatments that provide long lasting results. We also offer pet-safe treatment options.
The treatment is mixed to the correct ratio using our chemical dosing equipment and applied through a specialised chemical carbon pole system and is brushed into the tiles to give an even coverage.
This treatment is to kill all the spores of algae and moss that sit beneath the surface of the tile after the steam process meaning we can provide a 2 year no moss guarantee.
04
Final Touches & Customer Satisfaction
Before we consider the job complete, we take care of final touches. We clean up any residual mess, leaving your property as tidy as we found it.
Our goal is your complete satisfaction, so we welcome your feedback and address any concerns you may have.
Moss spores are like dandelion seeds
Moss removal on it's own can spread the spores and it will grow back again quickly. We treat the bio growth at it's source with safe HSE approved products
